Toyota Fortuner LEXUS Conversion: See Here

Toyota Fortuner has been dominating the full-size SUV segment since it was first introduced. Now, the Ford Endeavor has been discontinued there is no one to disturb the Fortuner. The SUV is known for its butch road presence, low cost of maintenance and off-road abilities. Despite the facelift, the design of the Fortuner has not been changed substantially. Due to this, some people have started to consider the Fortuner as an old vehicle. Because of this, owners have started modifying their Fortuners so that they look different. Here, we have a Toyota Fortuner LEXUS Conversion.

The video is uploaded on YouTube by Rohit Mehta Sai Auto Accessories. The shop has fitted an after-market bumper that looks like a Lexus bumper to a Toyota Fortuner. Lexus is the premium brand from Toyota only. There are also other modifications to the Fortuner.

Meet the Toyota Fortuner that wants to be a LEXUS

The Fortuner that we see in the video is a 2017 model. There is a huge Lexus-like bumper installed on the Fortuner. The grille is huge with a chrome surround. There is inverted L shape LED Daytime Running Lamps also. There are no changes to the headlamps of the Fortuner.

There are also side plastic panels that sit above the side steps. The rear has also been modified with an add-on bumper. It looks more aggressive and gets faux exhausts and a faux diffuser. The shop has also installed black surrounds on the tail lamps and an additional light strip above the tail lamp surround. There are also pillar lights installed on the D-pillars. The stock chrome garnish that sits between the tail lamps has been replaced with a different unit. The new unit also has Fortuner spelt out but it now is backlit. The reflector strips have also been replaced with LED lights.

There are also window visors finished in chrome. Other modifications include a different infotainment system, upgraded speaker system, different floor mats and ambient lighting. The owner of the SUV says that the shop took two days to do all the modifications and he looks pretty happy with the modified look. The prices of the modification have not been revealed in the video.

Toyota Fortuner

Toyota updated the Fortuner in January of this year. They also introduced the new Legender variant of the Fortuner. The prices of the Fortuner starts at Rs. 30.73 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 42.33 lakhs ex-showroom.

The Japanese manufacturer is still offering the Fortuner with a petrol and a diesel engine. The petrol engine stays the same. So, it is a 2.7-litre unit that produces 166 PS of max power and 245 Nm of peak torque. It is offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The petrol engine is offered only as a rear-wheel drive, you cannot get a petrol Fortuner with an all-wheel-drive system.

Toyota has retuned the diesel engine to produce more power and torque. It now puts out 204 PS of max power and 500 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. It is offered as rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
