Motorcycle Benelli 502C launched in India

After officially opening the bookings for the Motorcycle Benelli 502C, the Italian brand has announced the price of the bike today. Priced at Rs 4.98 lakh, ex-showroom, it is only Rs 30,000 more expensive than the Leoncino. Benelli has priced the 502C competitively and it is more than Rs 1 lakh cheaper than Kawasaki Vulcan S, which can be considered as its closest rival.

The Motorcycle Benelli 502C looks much inspired by the Ducati Diavel. At the front, it gets a sleek LED headlamp unit that will attract a lot of attention on the public roads. The bike gets the same 500cc parallel-twin engine that is also available with the Leoncino and the TRK 502 in India. The engine produces a similar 48 PS of maximum power and 46 Nm of peak torque. The power reaches the rear wheel through a six-speed gearbox.

The modern cruiser also gets all-LED illumination. The Benelli 502C gets a fully digital instrument cluster. The bike is based on a trellis frame. There is a 41mm USD fork at the front and a rear monoshock. The front brakes of 280mm held by radial callipers and a rear disc of 240mm do the job well. Dual-channel ABS is standard with the bike.

The bike also gets a massive 21-litre fuel tank. Since this is a long-distance touring bike, the fuel tank will definitely help to go a long distance without refuelling. The 170mm of ground clearance will also be very handy.

Commenting on the announcement, Mr Vikas Jhabakh, MD, Benelli India said,

“We are excited to launch our Ultimate Urban Cruiser in India today. The 502c is a classic Italian power cruiser combining distinct design, aggressive styling, laid-back ergonomics and engaging performance. With the launch of 502c, we are venturing into an all-new segment of high-performance power cruisers and are looking forward to adding more customers to the Benelli family in the country.”

The bike is low slung and gets a longish design that will remind you of the Diavel. You get Pirelli Angel GT tyres and even an adjustable clutch lever. The Benelli 502c will be offered in two colour options – Matte Cognac Red and Matte Black.

The 502c also gets unmatched comfort and riding ergonomics, thanks to the low seating position, wide swept handlebars and forward-set foot pegs. The adjustable rear mono-shock is flexible to suit the rider’s needs based on the weight requirements and riding conditions
