MG Astor SUV Deliveries Started From Today

MG launched their all-new compact SUV Astor in the market recently. The manufacturer had started accepting orders and the deliveries for the SUV has also started in different parts of the country. MG Astor is probably the most technologically advanced vehicle in its segment as it comes with host of segment first features. The SUV had received good response from customers and there is currently a waiting period on the Astor SUV as well. Here we have video of an MG Astor being delivered to a customer in Chennai.

The video has been uploaded by ID’s life on their YouTube channel. What makes this video special is that it is officially the first MG Astor SUV to be delivered in Chennai. Video shows the owner of the car completing the paperwork before taking the delivery. After the paperwork, keys are handed over to the customer and the SUV was driven out of the dealership.

MG is offering Astor with two engine options. There is a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 110 Ps and 144 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes with 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox. The next engine on offer is a 1.3 litre turbo petrol engine that generates 140 Ps and 220 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission as standard. The car that is delivered to customer in the video is the 1.5 litre petrol manual version.

MG Astor SUV deliveries commence in India

MG has named the variants similar to their other models. There are 5 variants on offer. The entry level variant is Style and Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy and placed above it. The prices for a MG Astor starts at Rs 9.78 lakh, ex-showroom and go up to Rs 17.38 lakh, ex-showroom. In terms of features, MG is offering a lot with the Astor. It gets dual airbags, Electronic Stability Program, Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist, Traction Control, Rear Parking Sensors, Active cornering brake control, Hill Hold Control, Hill Descent Control, Emergency Stop Signal, All 4 Disc Brakes, Emergency Fuel Cutoff and ISOFIX Child Seat mounts as standard.

Higher variants get 4 to 6 airbags, Electric Parking Brake with Auto hold, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Rear Parking Camera or 360-degree Parking Camera, Heated outside rearview mirrors and Front Fog Lamp with Cornering Assist. What makes MG Astor a unique product in this segment is definitely the autonomous level-2 features.

MG is offering Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features like Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Prevention, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control. It also gets Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Front Collision Warning, Speed Assist System and Intelligent Headlamp control feature as well. It is currently the only car in this segment to offer ADAS feature.
