Mahindra XUV 700 Pictures – Spotted with X-shaped Tail Lamps
Mahindra XUV 700 is a vehicle that many people are waiting for. It will be a new 7-seater SUV from the homegrown manufacturer. The XUV 700 will be going against Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus. According to the rumors, the XUV 700 can get unveiled on 15th August. In the pictures, we can see that the X-shape extends to the sides of the SUV. Other things that we notice is a roof-mounted spoiler and a shark-fin antenna. Some elements have been derived from the current XUV 500 because its design was one of the best that people had seen. There are some wide rear haunches over the rear wheel arches. You can see the same design elements on the XUV 500 also.
Mahindra brought the Cheetah inspired vertical door handles with the XUV 500. Now, the manufacturer will be bringing flush sitting door handles with the XUV 700. So, when the SUV locks or moving, the door handles will sit within the bodywork.
Fully Loaded
We all expected the XUV 700 to offer a panoramic sunroof but Mahindra has gone a step ahead and is offering the best in segment panoramic sunroof with the SUV. Mahindra calls it Skyroof. The interior will be a step-up in terms of quality and equipment. It will come with dual horizontal screens. The middle one will be a touchscreen infotainment system which will come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The second display will be a digital instrument cluster for the driver. It will show all the vital information to the driver.
Features offered will include a 360-degree parking camera, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, voice commands, app connectivity and connected car technology. There will also be speed alerts that will be configurable for voice. The XUV 700 price is to start around Rs. 16.5 lakhs ex-showroom and go all the way up to Rs. 22.5 lakhs ex-showroom.
Class-leading engines – Mahindra XUV 700
Mahindra will offer the most powerful engines in the segment with the XUV 700. There will be 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol with direct injection and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine will be called mStallion while the diesel engine will be called mHawk.
The diesel engine will produce 185 bhp whereas the petrol engine will produce 200 bhp. This makes the XUV 700 the most powerful SUV in the segment. The torque output will be around 380 Nm for both engines. Mahindra will offer 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with the XUV 700. Unlike the rivals, the XUV 700 will also come with a 4×4 drivetrain. However, it will be only offered with the top-end variants. This will attract a lot of people as people were demanding a 4×4 system in the Safari.
More Mahindra SUVs coming
Mahindra is working on quite a few vehicles for the future. There will be a 5-door version of the Thar which has been confirmed by the manufacturer. They will also launch a new generation of XUV 500 and they will have a new flagship known as XUV 900 Coupe.
