Delhi Police’s New Motorbike Spotted in Delhi

Royal Mavericks spotted the motorbike. The bike is somewhere in Delhi, currently exact location of the bike is unknown. The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is black in color. It was spotted with a policeman, we can see a lot of updates on the bike. While the exact modifications and upgrades are not known, here are a few modifications that we can spot in the picture uploaded here.

The black colour Royal Enfield Interceptor has Delhi Police decals on the fuel tank and the battery box cover. Also, there is a small Delhi Police sticker on the rear mudguard too. Apart from the stickers, we can spot flashers mounted on the side guard alongside a siren. The bike also has rear red and blue flashers. And there is a side box to keep all the policing equipment and other things that the cops need to carry for the daily duty. An aftermarket backrest has also been installed on the bike.

Delhi Police notified the Delhi High Court that it acquired twelve Royal Enfield Interceptor motorcycles and seven Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500. The cops also bought sixteen Mahindra Scorpio SUVs last year and received the new fleet soon after placing the order.

Other State Police

Cops from several states use the Royal Enfield motorcycles as their official patrolling bikes. As a result, modern bikes are replacing their older motorcycles. The best example comes from Kolkata Police where the cops even showed their disagreement over replacing the old Royal Enfield bikes with the modern bikes like the TVS Apache and Bajaj Pulsar.

Delhi Police is probably the first force to acquire the newly introduced twin-cylinder powered Royal Enfield Interceptor motorcycles in India. Royal Enfield’s Interceptor and the Continental GT 650 have the first parallel-twin engine and are getting very popular within the community.

The 649cc, parallel-twin cylinder, air-cooled engine produces a maximum power of 47 Bhp and peak torque of 52 Nm. As a result, this makes the Interceptor one of the most powerful bikes used by the Indian police force. On an interesting note, Kolkata Police uses Harley-Davidson Street 750 as their official bikes. But, mostly to guard the convoy of VVIPs. It seems like Delhi Police’s Interceptors have ben deployed for daily regular work. And, also to provide more power to the cops to chase down any vehicles on the roads.
