2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno (New Cars)

India’s largest automobile manufacturer will be launching a new generation of the Baleno next year. According to the rumours, the new-gen Baleno is expected to launch in February 2022. It will be a major design overhaul. The front will be entirely redesigned with new LED projector headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps. The rear will also now come with new LED tail lamps. In the cabin, we can see some new upholstery, a slightly redesigned instrument cluster and a new dashboard. There will also be a new larger touchscreen infotainment system with a new user interface. It will also support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. We do not expect any changes to the engine of the Baleno.

Tata Punch iTurbo (New Cars)

According to T-BHP, Tata Motors will be launching the Punch micro-SUV with a more powerful turbocharged petrol engine. The engine will be taken from the Altroz iTurbo. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 109 bhp of max power and 140 Nm of peak torque. It will be offered only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The more powerful engine will be offered only with the Accomplished and Creative variant. The new engine is expected to launch in February or March next year.

Skoda Kodiaq Facelift

Skoda discontinued their Kodiaq SUV in India when the BS6 emission norms kicked in. Now, the manufacturer is preparing to bring it back to India with the facelift. New Kodiaq will be launched in January 2022. This information has been confirmed by Zac Hollis, Director, Skoda Auto. The Kodiaq will now look sleeker and modern with the new design language. It will now be offered only with a petrol engine that replaces the diesel engine. The 2.0-litre TSI engine produces 187 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Kodiaq will also come with an all-wheel-drive system. Skoda will bring Kodiaq Facelift as a CKD unit.

Skoda Slavia

The Slavia is the second product under Skoda’s INDIA 2.0 strategy. It is based on the MAB-A0-IN platform. The new mid-size sedan will be replacing the Rapid and will be positioned higher than it. This is because it is larger and more premium than the Rapid. There will be two petrol engines on offer. A 1.0-litre TSI and a 1.5-litre TSI. We have experienced both the engines on the Skoda Kushaq. The Slavia will be unveiled later this year and the launch will happen in February or March next year.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio

Mahindra is working on the new-gen Scorpio for quite some time now. It is based on a reworked ladder frame chassis and the dimensions of the SUV have also increased. It will still retain its boxy design language. There will be redesigned front and rear lamps. The interior will also be redesigned and will be more premium than the outgoing Scorpio. It will get petrol and a diesel engine. The engines will be shared with the Thar and the XUV700. Both the engines will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. We are also expecting Mahindra to offer a 4×4 drivetrain.
